... Commissioners, Public Officers relieved of Duties after Supreme Court judgement

Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has relieved all Commissioners and other public officers affected by the recent Supreme Court judgement of their appointments with immediate effect.
This was contained in a statement signed by Nelson Chukwudi, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
According to the statement, the Governor made the announcement during a valedictory session with his cabinet at Government House, Port Harcourt, held as part of activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Governor Fubara, while commending members of his cabinet for their services and contributions to the State over the past two years, assured Rivers people of his renewed commitment to serve with diligence.
The Governor also underscored the significance of Nigeria’s independence, urging citizens to unite and support President Bola Tinubu in building a peaceful, secure, and prosperous nation.
He further thanked Rivers people for their support and wished all Nigerians a happy Independence anniversary.
