Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party-nPDP and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has joined well-meaning good Rivers people to facilitate with Governor Siminialayi Fubara, who clocks 51 years on Wednesday.
In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze said it is urgent to return gratitude to God for sparing the life of “Governor Fubara who has remained firm in his determination to ensure that the treasury of the state is not perpetually appropriated as an annex to the personal estate of a lamebrain and kleptomaniac; a ruthless individual whose crave for power and material possession is driven by naked ambition and unrestrained greed.”
Eze acknowledged that, “despite the plethora of legal and political battles that surrounds the governor, which ordinarily would distract the focus of any leader from providing leadership, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has consistently channelled his gaze on his obligations in the social contract between him and Rivers people.”
He also appreciated what he described “laudable multi-sectorial achievements” of the birthday celebrant across the state, notwithstanding the political odds that confronted the state Chief Executive, which according to the Chieftain “tells the story of a man who would have done much better, were the thorns on his flesh not there.”
As an encouragement, the former national publicity secretary said that Fubara, despite the challenges, “must find solace in the aphorism ‘roses out of thorn”, which he interpreted to mean “though times shape tough men.”
Congratulating the governor further, for the milestone in his journey of life, Eze encouraged him to remain courageous and continually stand by the people of Rivers State who freely donated to him the mandate to steer the wheel of statecraft for the common good, while praying God to continue to give him all it takes to lead the state to greater heights.
