In what may be regarded as a show of political validation, the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, led a massive campaign rally across the three political zones (A, B, and C) of the Abuja Municipal Area Council ,AMAC, in support of the Executive Chairman, Honourable Christopher Zakka Maikalangu.
A statement by the Director, Social Media and Strategic Communications for Maikalangu/Nadabo Campaign Council, Hon. Kingsley Madaki , informed that the campaign flagged off at Dei Dei International Market, drawing hordes of traders to receive the FCT Minister and the AMAC Chairman.
According to the statement, the traders turnout demonstrated “a strong show of solidarity” as they “unanimously endorsed Maikalangu’s re-election bid, citing confidence in his leadership and grassroots impact.”
The statement also acknowledged a rare political development, where the PDP Chairmanship candidate of AMAC, Dantani Zadna, known as King of Boys joined Hon. Maikalangu’s campaign train and formally announced his withdrawal from the race. This followed the latter’s declaration of total support for Hon. Maikalangu.
The political opponent reiterated his decision at Apo Mechanic Village and again in Karu, where he publicly stepped down and collapsed his structure in support of the AMAC Chairman.
While addressing group of enthusiastic supporters of the APC across the zones, the FCT Minister called on residents to come out en masse for Saturday Council election elections to demonstrate their support and ensure victory for the APC candidates at the polls.
Hon. Maikalangu responded by explaining his appreciation to the honourable Minister and the party stakeholders for their solidarity and also urging eligible voters to turn out in their numbers to vote for him and all his councillorship candidates.
He used the occasion to reiterate his readiness to continue to pursue a people-oriented governance and grassroots development across AMAC.
