Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP), now a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze has stated that the decision by former Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, to purchase the presidential nomination form of the party is a major boost to the party’s growing political relevance and national appeal ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze noted that Amaechi’s entry into the presidential race has undoubtedly injected renewed confidence, energy, and credibility into the ADC, positioning the party as a formidable alternative in Nigeria’s evolving political landscape. As a seasoned administrator, former Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, two-term governor of Rivers State, former Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, and former Minister of Transportation, Amaechi brings to the table vast political experience, grassroots appeal, and national recognition.

He said Amaechi’s decision to pick the ADC presidential nomination at this critical moment is not only a personal political statement but also a strong endorsement of the party’s ideology, structure, and capacity to compete effectively at the highest level. According to him, political observers believe that his involvement will attract more progressives, technocrats, youths, and patriotic Nigerians seeking credible leadership.

The party chieftain said: “Amaechi’s political influence, especially across the South-South and other strategic regions of the country, is expected to strengthen the ADC’s organizational base and electoral viability. Beyond his personal ambition,”

According him, the former minister’s participation elevates the party’s national profile and signals that the ADC is steadily becoming a preferred platform for serious-minded leaders committed to rescuing Nigeria from economic hardship, insecurity, and poor governance.

“Indeed, the purchase of the ADC presidential form by Amaechi is more than a routine political development; it is a bold statement that the party is ready to play a decisive role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic future. It reflects growing public confidence in alternative political movements and further confirms that the ADC is emerging as a strong force capable of challenging the status quo in 2027.

He also took the opportunity to reel out what he described as Ameachi’s achievements as Governor, stating that on assumption of office, Amaechi embarked on a holistic overhaul of all critical sectors of the state’s economy which translated into a massive fillip in public treasury and an improved standard of living for Rivers people.

He listed the former minister’s legacy projects to include 160 Model Primary Health Centers, 350 Model Primary Schools, with the state-of-the-arts facilities, ESI Model Nursery Schools, (a pet-project of Mrs. Amaechi).

Others, according to Eze include 24 Model Secondary Schools (one in each local government area) with the capacity to accommodate over thousands of students, New Rivers State University of Science and Technology (Now Rivers State University); establishment of Songhai Farm, located in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State with over 1000 workers in its workforce, to boost food sufficiency in the state; Oil Palm Estate and Banana Plantation, ( measuring 10, 000 hectares); Buguma Fish Farm; Fishermen empowerment; established of state-owned company-Treasure Energy Resources Limited; Independent Power initiative (with gas turbines in Omoku, Trans-Amadi and Eleme.)

Through the Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI), Rivers State government under Rt. Hon. Amaechi provided hundreds of taxis for women in a determination to enhance family income.

Eze concluded by stating that, “The list of projects executed under the golden administration of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi remains inexhaustible, and surely Nigeria will feel his impact when he resumes office in May, 2027.”
