    Texts: Isaiah 40:28-31

Everybody wants New Heights in life, just like we all want to experience it in every area of our lives, family, business, career, vocation, even in our finances, fellowships, departments and in church generally.

This is because no one wants to remain stagnant. It is the desire of everyone to move forward and not remain on the same spot.

Most importantly, our God is a God of new heights, just as he is a God of newness. If you look at his works in Genesis 1, in the manner he created the heaven and the earth, you will agree with me that he loves to do new things.

Same way, in between Genesis and Revelation, he continually does new things. Isahia 43:18-19 says, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.”

For Rhema Chapel International Churches Abuja, at 30, God’s agenda for the church is New Heights.

I declare, now is New Heights of promotion, progress and getting better in all spheres of your life.

The Word of God in many instances makes provisions for us to attain new heights. In Proverbs 4:18, “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”

In Genesis 1:28, the Bible says, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth….”

In Deuteronomy 28:13, the Word of God says, “And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only….”

In Psalms 115: 14, the word of God says, “The Lord shall increase you more and more: you and your children.”

In Psalms 71:21, the Bible says, “Thou shalt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.”

Genesis 26:13 says, “And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great.”

The above Scriptures are proofs that God does not want any of his children to stagnate in life.

Similarly, in Acts 12:24, the Word of God tells us that, “But the word of God grew and multiplied.” Ps 84:7, “They go from strength to strength…”

It is important to know that New heights is the will of God for us, while stagnation is of the devil, especially when you consider what God has in store in John 10::10, stating that, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

New heights is as a result of God’s nature and kindness. God is responsible for our increase on all sides.

His increase brings joy, peace and celebrations to us- Col 2:19, James 1:17, Prov. 10:22

What New Heights is all about:
It means to progress very well and grow.

It means new levels, new achievements , new accomplishments, promotion , taking new territories, advancement, leaving your current state for the new and better .

Other meanings associated with new heights are: new exploits, remarkable success, more success or improvements than ever before, to accomplish something very significant and extraordinary. We can go on and on to establish what new heights is all about.

I want you to understand that, the word new is not as rich as it is when compared to its meaning in the Bible – For instance, in the Greek and Hebrew word, where it is much more deeper and means the following:

  1. New in Time: Never happened before. Happened for the first time. 1 Corinthians 2:9 “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”
This means that no record of it was there before and no event like it. God will use you to break record!

It also means something people are not likely to have seen before. Most recent or recently made. Original. Just out. Latest. Uncommon. Of a new kind.

  1. Happened before but new to us. Happened in other people, places, families, churches, but now to us
Through this, the lame will work, the blind will see and billionaires will emerge.
  2. It can be classified as renewed– to bring back to the state it was before. Happened before you witnessed it. Occur before, but no longer happen, like it is said in Psalms 74:9 “We see not our signs..”
Let the old time come alive. That is, bring back to the nature and structure it used to be- Ezra 3:12-13. For instance, our ministry, Rhema Chapel International Churches is known for the word, prayer and speaking in tongues.

As a church, family and individuals, our expectations should be New Heights. That should be our hunger and strong belief, hope , eagerness and excitement.

Now that you have known this, see New Heights as your project and believe that you have something to offer by being a contributor.

Requirements for New Heights:

For you to enjoy what it means to experience New Heights, there are requirements:

1. Desire: Every change begins with a burning desire. Man is created to desire- Proverbs 10:24, talks about the desire of the righteous. (Have a relationship) fellowship with God. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Accept Jesus, as your Lord and Saviour. Draw near- James 4:8, Acquaint yourself with God- Job 22:21

2. Believe New Heights, not just hearing it or writing it down. John 11:40 says, “.. if you believed, you would see the glory of God” Jacob believed- Gen. 32:26. “I will not let you go unless …., Luke 1;45, “And blessed is she that believed, for there shall be a performance of those things that were told her from the Lord.”

3. Decide for New Heights: Know that, until your desire becomes a decision, it will never take off, because human destiny is determined by choice, not by chance.

The beginning of any man’s greatness starts from the time he takes the right decision. Life without decision is a life without direction.

In Esther 4:16, Esther took a decision . In 1 Samuel 17:32, David took a decision, saying,'”Let no man’s heart fail because of him, thy servant will go and fight with the Philistine. David took a decision to fight Goliath in that instance.

The three (3) Hebrew men took a decision.

In Mark 10:47-48, the Blind Barthelomew took a decision when he cried the more.

In Mark 5:35, the woman with the issue of blood went in the press to touch the helm of Jesus garment.

  1. Prepare for New Heights. Isaiah 54:2-3, “Make wide the place of your tent…”. Amos 4:2, “Prepare to meet thy God.” You need to prepare for enlargement, because it is said that success comes when preparation meets opportunity. Do something about it. Step towards achieving your goal. Work smarter and look for better ways of doing things, prayer does not take the place of work in life.
Read: Romans 12 : , Romans 6. Pay the price, prayer brings blessings on what you find doing. No success on earth without work.

Jotham because mighty, because he prepared his way. So, do more than what you have been doing. Gather the right information and resources. 2 Corinthians 7:1, “Let us cleanse ourselves of all filthiness of the flesh.”

5.Expand the Kingdom of God. Become a soul winner. Go favours those who labour for him. What you make hapoen for the Kingdom, he will make happen for you. We are saved by grace but rewarded by our works.

Ruth 2:12 says, “The LORD recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.” And 2 Chronicles 15:7 says, “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.”

Know that, no idle Christian will earn a crown from God.

In 1Timothy 4:7-8, Apostle Paul disclosed that, “I have fought a good fight. I have finished my cause, i have kept the faith.

  1. Pray for New Heights. Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call unto me and i will answer thee…”
Through prayer, divine assistance is made available to those who ask. Try and pray, you can receive God’s help: Read: Matt. 7:7 ; Ps. 2:8; James 5:13,16; Luke 18:1 ; 1 Thessalonians 5:17

It is unfortunate that in this dispensation, people are too busy to pray. The early church prayed, Jesus, our Lord prayed.
The devil mocks when we organize many organizers and few agonizers.

The greatest tragedy in life is not unanswered prayers but ‘unoffered’ prayers.

We need to know that prayer still remans an untapped resource.
Colossians 4:20 says, “Continue steadfastly in prayer. Devote yourself, continue earnestly in prayer.”
