The Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, has come up with a new flag off date, now May 29, for the commencement of commercial operations of the Abuja Rail Mass Transit System also known as the Abuja Light Rail, as against May 27, 2024 announced earlier.
In a statement by the FCT Director of Press, Tony Ogunleye, informed that the Abuja Metro rail will now be commissioned on Democracy Day, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at 1:00 pm.
.The statement reads in part, “This flag-off of the commencement of commercial operations is part of celebrations marking the first year anniversary of the administration of President Bola Tinubu.”
