The Department of State Services, DSS, has refuted report that it’s operatives arrested one of the leaders of #EndBadGoveenanceinNigeria, Michael Lenin, in Abuja, rather the service stated that it made other arrests in connection with the nationwide protests.
Earlier, a report about the arrest of Michael Lenin had gained traction in the media ( including this publication), that operatives of the secret police apprehended and detained Lenin in Apo, the FCT, in the presence of his family members on Monday.
Making official clarification after the news of the arrest, the service in a statement posted on its official X account on Monday, denied the arrest of Lenin.
The brief statement reads: “The DSS can confirm that Adaramoye Michael (aka Michael Lenin) is not in our custody,” but confirmed it carried out some other arrests in connection with the ongoing nationwide protests against economic hardship and bad governance in Nigeria.
Although the DSS claimed that Adaramoye Michael (aka Michael Lenin) was not in its custody, it noted that investigation was ongoing on the matter.
