The NELFUND team commenced its visit to Taraba State, leading to a meeting with the management of a local tertiary institution, where the Managing Director, Mr Akintunde Sawyerr presented NELFUND-branded bags as a gesture of partnership and support.
This initial engagement set the tone for the collaboration, as the team later met with student representatives from various higher institutions across the state. During the session, they provided detailed insights into the NELFUND Student Loan program, highlighting its benefits and how students could access it.
Adding to the significance of the event, the Taraba State Commissioner of Education was represented at the session.
Notably, the NELFUND Student Loan initiative has already disbursed ₦400 million in funding to Taraba State University. Despite this substantial contribution, the team emphasized that more support is still needed to address the financial challenges faced by students in the state.
The visit reflects NELFUND’s commitment to fostering educational advancement and easing the financial burden on students in Taraba and beyond.
