Starts operation with 60,000 barrels capacity per day, 200 trucks to load product daily

Consequent upon several postponements, marked by disappointment on the part of anxious Nigerians, the Port Harcourt Refinery has finally resumed fuel production.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL confirmed the development in an official report on Tuesday by the NNPC spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye.
He also informed that the loading of trucks would commence at the same time today.
The report was backed by an update via the company’s micro log handle , X. The NNPC stated in a post: “NNPC Ltd Delivers Port Harcourt Refinery as plant begins truckout of products today, Tuesday 26th November 2024 at 1.45 pm.
“Watch the commissioning and trucking out event LIVE.”
We also gathered that the refinery would start operation with 60,000 barrels capacity per day, releasing Premium Motor Spirit, diesel, and others into the Nigerian market.
This marks a turn around as the Port Harcourt Refinery ranks as the second petrol-producing refinery after the Dangote Refinery commenced PMS production in September this year
IThe refinery is one of the three owned by the Federal Government and managed by the NNPC.
It is expected that this development could help jerk down the price of PMS and others and put an end to the importation of refined crude into the country.
