Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, honourable Blessing Agbebaku, has called on Christian faithful to follow after Jesus Christ, who brought redemption to mankind.
The speaker stated this in his Christmas message through his spokesperson, Ivy Adodo-Ebojele.
“Let me begin by extending my warm greetings to you all, as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the reason for our existence. It is with a deep sense of joy that I bring you warm greetings as we mark another Christmas celebration.
“I also want to use this opportunity to thank and appreciate you all for your cooperation and support as we continue to pilot the affairs of the Assembly.
“With your prayers, we will continue to succeed in Jesus name. On our part as an Assembly, we remain committed and determined to join the drive of taking Edo to greater heights by working assiduously to better the lot of our people.
“As we celebrate, let us also remember and offer special prayers for the state, as the peace and security in Edo remain critical to our progress and development.
“Let us also remember the less privileged and the needy among us, and do everything possible to make their Christmas memorable as well.
“On my part, I had a wonderful session with my Constituents, where I distributed Christmas packages to the 11 wards of Owan West constituency, bags of rice and cows were shared across all wards of the local government area.
“Merry Christmas and a bountiful New Year in advance.”
