The Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc, AEDC, Thursday said that the power outage being experienced in some parts of the Federal Capital City was as a result of the repairs on the 33kv NIPP feeder.

The AEDC management made the disclosure through its Twitter handle, also known as X on Thursday.

According to the statement by AEDC management, areas affected by the repairs include Dantata Estate, FO1, Chikakore, Byazhin, Byazhin Across, Gbazango and Military Pension Board.

The statement went further explaining that, “Similarly, customers located at FCDA, Owner Occupier, Army Estate. Phase 3, Phase 4, 2.1, 22, Extension 2, Aso Garden Estate, Zenith Bank area, Dutse, Papas Ground, Karsana, Mona Apartment and its environs.”

The AEDC added that the power outage is due to a fault on the 33kV Kubwa circuit breaker.

The management appealed to those who may be affected to show understanding, saying, “We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused by these power outages, please be assured that all the relevant stakeholders are working relentlessly to ensure power supply is restored soonest.

“Thank you for your understanding and patience during this time.”

Meanwhile, some electricity consumers in some of the affected areas have reacted to the blackout they currently experience.

They were unanimous in their appeal to the AEDC management to expedite their repair works on the said feeders, even as they noted that the current hot weather condition could be made worse in households where blackout persists longer than expected.
