The Palestinian Authority, PA has welcomed the plan set aside to put an end to the war in Gaza, which death toll had risen to almost 66,000 persons, even as they described the efforts of the United States President, Donald Trump as “sincere and determined.”
The plan announced by Trump and Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Nethanyahu after talks at the White House proposes an immediate end to military operations, with Hamas to release 20 living Israeli hostages and the remains of the more than two dozen hostages who are believed to be dead within 72 hours of accepting the plan, according to Reuters reports.
In the arrangement which is give and take in nature, Israel will release hundreds of detained Palestinians from the now flattened Gaza enclave, while full humanitarian aid will flow in for suffering civilians.
The 20-point plan has reportedly been handed to the Hamas leadership based in Doha, Qatar.
Based on the proposed plan, Hamas will have no role in governing Gaza, and leaves the reality for Palestinian State, even as scores of countries have already given their recognition to this, despite Nethanyahu’s indisposition.
At the American White House parley, President Trump said the US will back Israel to “finish the job of destroying the threat of Hamas” if Hamas does not agree to the plan.
The plan also reccomends that once both sides agree to the proposal “full aid will be immediately sent into the Gaza Strip” and that a “technocratic, apolitical Palestinian committee” will govern temporarily “with oversight and supervision by a new international transitional body, called the Board of Peace, which will be headed” by Trump.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Turkey, Indonesia, and Pakistan said they welcomed Trump’s “leadership and his sincere efforts to end the war in Gaza.”
