PFN, Nigerians mourn….

The founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, UUEA, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, has passed on to the great beyond at the age of 80.
The passing of one of Nigeria’s foremost evangelist was announced by the family through his official Instagram page, @Uma_Ukpai, on Monday, declaring that the renowned Man of God died on October 6, 2025.
“With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate the triumphant homegoing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, who passed on to glory on October 6, 2025, at the age of 80. A faithful soldier of the cross has been called to rest.
“Dedicating over six decades of his life to fiery evangelism, dynamic teaching of the Word and prophetic demonstrations of the power of God, he impacted millions of lives and transformed destinies within Nigeria and across the globe.
“He was a spiritual general known for evangelism, a founding father of faith, loving husband, devoted father and mentor to many, and his life was a testament to God’s power and love.
“While we mourn his physical absence, we rejoice that he has finished his race and is now resting in eternal praise. Details of the obsequies will be announced in due course by the family.
“We are grateful to God for his extraordinary life and enduring legacy.
‘For indeed, ‘to live is Christ, and to die is gain.’ Phil 1:21,” the post read.
The fiery evangelist’s ministry was non-denominational in nature, and he led the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, headquartered in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The clergy is survived by his wife, children, and spiritual protégés.
He fought the Good Fight- PFN
Joining hordes of sympathizers home and abroad, the President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has mourned the passage of Dr. Uma in an emotion laden tributei, describing him as “a man who poured his life selflessly into the service of the Lord and the advancement of His Kingdom.”
The PFN leader further expressed both grief and gratitude, emphasizing the divine timing of Ukpai’s transition.
“Though our hearts grieve, we bow to the sovereign will of God for God’s time remains the best. Our comfort is in the blessed assurance that ‘precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints,’” Bishop Oke said.
He saluted the lifelong dedication of the reverred evangelist to soul-winning and revival, describing him as a soldier of faith who “fought the good fight” and now rests in the presence of his Lord and Master.
“He fought the good fight of faith, won countless souls, and now rests with His Lord and Master, whom he served faithfully till the end. To God alone be the glory for a life well spent in His service,” he added.
“Adieu, God’s General. We will see in Glory,” he concluded.
PFN President encouraged believers to honour Evangelist Uma Ukpai’s legacy by continuing his passion for evangelism and revival, echoing his lifelong mission of #100MillionSoulsForChrist.
Meanwhile, other members of the Christian community have started experiencing their grief over the loss of the great evangelist.
Gospel artiste and minister, Frank Edwards has penned his condolences saying to the departed clergy: “Thank you for impacting the world in a special way !! YOU FINISHED WELL PAPA REST ON”.
However, Frank recalled how he got healed of asthma and pneumonia during a crusade hosted by the deceased.

On Mega Nicholas Anthony blog (Facebook), it was revealed that, “Before his death, he made it known that when he dies, nobody will know & truly it happened…. This confirmed the fact that until now, little or nothing was known about his passing which took place on October 6

Dr. Uma Ukpai held qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Journalism, and Divinity, blending intellect with spirituality in a rare way that made his ministry deeply practical and modern.
The clergy will be remembered as a global evangelist, teacher, and humanitarian, who rose from humble beginnings in Ohafia, Abia State, to become a spiritual voice of unity, healing, and hope.
He held qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Journalism, and Divinity, blending intellect with spirituality in a rare way that made his ministry deeply practical and modern.
