The Director General of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Mrs Zubaida Umar, has made a surprise visit to the Agency’s Emergency Response Bay located at Bill Clinton Avenue, Airport Road in Abuja, as part of efforts to ensure sustained operational readiness for timely response to emergencies.
The surprise visit provided the Director General an opportunity to assess firsthand the condition of facilities and operational equipment at the response bay, as well as interact with personnel on duty.
Mrs. Zubaida Umar emphasized the importance of maintaining facilities and response equipment in optimal condition to ensure prompt and effective deployment whenever emergencies occur.
She also encouraged the personnel to remain vigilant, dedicated and professional in the discharge of their responsibilities, noting that effective emergency response requires constant preparedness and commitment by responders.
The Director General commended the staff for their dedication to duty and reiterated the commitment of NEMA management to continually strengthen the Agency’s operational capabilities and provide the necessary support for effective emergency response.
She was accompanied on the visit by the Special Assistant to the Director General, Hajiya Rakiya Bello Umar.
