The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, ADC,  has announced a two-day scheduled power outage for customers in  Airport Road, Lugbe, Gaduwa and other parts of Abuja.

AEDC stated this on its verified X handle on Friday. It informed the public that the planned power outage is for Saturday and Sunday, at the request of the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA.

According to the announcement, the power blackout will pave the way for the relocation of critical electricity infrastructure along the 33kV feeders H21 and H23, as well as the 11kV feeder H1A in the Gaduwa District.

The post added that the relocation of power infrastructure in the stated areas  will also facilitate ongoing road construction in the overriding public interest, while noting that electricity supply to the affected areas would be temporarily disrupted.

AEDC assured: “Supply will be restored upon completion of the exercise,” even as it apologized for any inconveniences the exercise could cause the public in the affected locations.

“We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.”
