Poser of the Day: 👇

‘WHY DO PEOPLE WHO GIVE LIGHT TO OTHERS FIND IT SO IMPOSSIBLE TO LIGHT UP THEMSELVES?’

Introduction: Anytime someone says something that’s completely alien to a discussion, be careful not to jump on board the bandwagon of focusing on the chaff rather than the substance. Please, keep that somewhere. You shall always need it. Permanently eschew the jumping conclusion bias.

2.0 Truth is, things are not always the way they seem. With a little tinkering, truth can be false; a lie can be true. It is so with facts as well as with appearance. Everything can be twisted, be careful.

3.0 Next, let’s proceed to winning ways. It’s ASK THE BOSS Special. That’s right, this is a special offering. Rather than our tradition of fielding questions inboxed by a member of the public, today I am bending the rules and myself (over backwards) because I believe that the above-mentioned vexed poser, thrown at me inside an Abuja hall, is one of urgent global importance.

4.0 It’s an issue that touches or should touch everyone; everyone who carries Light, that is. So, I ask you now: are you Light? Or, do you carry Light? Have you ever whined or worried because you couldn’t shine what you thought was your own Light on yourself?

5.0 I expect a cornucopia of yeses. Don’t fear for me, I already know that an alarming percentage of the yeses would come from people who are neither carriers of Light nor willing to become, but who crave the ad hoc spotlight all the same. As you very well know, Light is an all-conquering, generous agent. Light doesn’t bother about being outshone; about the yesterday small victories of darkness.

6.0 Light is a confident complex and a talismanic formula. Light is not inferior and can never be but Light doesn’t flaunt the bragging rights concomitant with being superior. Light doesn’t talk let alone brag. Light just does the needful, anytime the need arises which almost always is when darkness torments someone it shouldn’t.

7.0 At such times, Light gives all of her own life and darkness is snuffed out instantly. Yes, Light is life; Light is human albeit spiritual; Light is a natural He-she; the prettiest of them all. The arrival of Light is the departure or evaporation or melting of darkness. Light and darkness can never co-habit!

8.0 At this juncture, before we start negotiating approach to our last bus stop, the follow-up question is: so, what’s this Light? As academics are won’t to say, here are the contextual clarifications: altruism, counselling, guidance, heart of solution, mentoring, selflessness, troubleshooting. Let the sevensome suffice for now, as we make to tie up loose ends. First though, to get me in the mood, let’s panel-beat the question of the day into the ASK THE BOSS prototype, thus: The Boss, why do people who give Light to others find it so impossible to direct the Light on selves?

9.0 My take: Excellent. This was my take then in that Abuja hall when a lady discussing strategy suddenly turned to me to chip in my thoughts on the matter. It remains my take now. It is a double-barrelled 24-karat Classic; even if I say so myself.

10.0 See, the sun which is light by day never ‘suns’ itself. Ditto the moon, which is light by night. It can never ‘moon’ itself. People who bear the Light cannot light up themselves because they are just reflectors, not the source.

11.0 Light bearers give or, to say it as it is, reflect what they don’t have. To have it for themselves, they must go back to the One and Only Source. Most often than not, Light withholds or delays shining on reflectors so that they don’t think He-she and they are equal; or that they have it all. That’s my take; as He gave me.

Conclusion: I am tempted to ask you again, are you a Light-reflector who’s had issues enjoying some of it? Weep not, Child. In matters of the spirit, you can only enjoy Heaven and Earth simultaneously, if you are connected to the divine grid. Are you?

Rest assured though, that He has fixed you big time, already. Only ensure you have no problem receiving the Light. One, stay connected; two, make sure ‘thou art not weary in well-doing,’ and three, never make yourself the Source of the Light. You have never been, you are not, you never shall be.

God bless Nigeria!
