A football coach will tell you that taking an early shot increases your chances of winning the game. A doctor will emphasize the importance of eating breakfast early to maintain good health. A lecturer will warn you not to joke with your first-year CGPA because it sets the foundation for academic success. And as a life and purpose coach, I will tell you this—start building your journey to success early enough in your youthful years because your fulfillment in old age depends on it.
Even the Holy Scriptures encourage early wisdom and devotion to God as a foundation for a brighter future. Time waits for no one, and the earlier you take action, the greater your chances of living a life of significance.
The word early should either motivate you to sit up or make you uncomfortable, depending on your mindset. We often hear the saying, “A fool at 40 is a fool forever.” This doesn’t mean someone at 40 cannot be rich or own properties. It means that if, by 40, you have not attained impact, discovered your purpose, or released your potential to the world, you have wasted precious time.
Ask yourself:
How old am I?
What have I achieved so far?
What am I planning to accomplish before I turn 20, 30, 40?
What will the world remember me for if my time comes today?
What solutions has my life provided since I was born?
If you have reached the age of accountability but haven’t made these questions part of your daily reflection, you are heading in the wrong direction. Life is about impact, not just existence.
You were created to be a solution to problems on earth. If you don’t start acting now, you might miss the target. Stop waiting for a perfect time—the perfect time is now.
We often hear the phrase, “Make hay while the sun shines,” yet many fail to apply it in their lives. Time is running, and procrastination is a thief of destiny. Pursue that dream, chase that vision, and execute your goals. Do it early enough so that when the future arrives, you won’t live in regret.
Your life should be a blueprint for future generations. Prepare something that your children and the world will look at with pride. Don’t wait until old age before you realize that time has passed. The best gift you can give yourself is the peace of knowing that even if your journey ends today, you have left something valuable behind.
Start now. Take that shot. Build a life of impact. Because at the end of the day, life does not reward those who hesitate—it rewards those who take action.
I am Flourish Joshua, manifested for this purpose—to ignite the manifestation the world has been waiting for.
