A gender based world as it is;
Where male and female coexist;
In human form, but with some structural differences;

Two eyes and ears, two legs and wrists;
But organs for sex separate the sexes.
Years back in times past;

One gender groomed for fights;
To fight with arrows, bows and knives;
Taught to strive through the toughness of life;

To hunt animals for meat and hides;
The other, cultured as brides;
To fulfill marriage rites;
With her opposite kind;
To become homely as good mothers and wives;

Through them, children come;
With them, families were raised;
With them, communities and nations were made;

For they nurture by nature without being trained.
So and fine it was in that time;
That many things were gender based without crime;

But in this our time, day and age;
That modernity is in its heightening stage;
Realities evolving becoming more challenging;

As the world’s narrative is fast changing;
And eyes are beginning to open;
To see what they have been blind to;
That weakness is not just feminity;
That strength is not just masculinity;
But both lie in fair-share ability;
Hence the need for the clamour of readjustments;

Readjustments in dispensing rights and treatments;

So balanced become contributions to the world’s betterment.
Instead of agitating against inequality;
Let genders work in hands for equity;
With love, respect, and empathy for humanity;

For they are keys to unlock equality;
Just as they are to unlock equity;
Without them, equality is uncertainty!
