Nollywood comedy act, John Okafor, famously known as Mr Ibu is Dead. The news of his passage has sent shock waves across family and friends, most especially the entertainment industry.
Recall that, the renowned comedian had a lon battle with health condition, resulting unavoidable surgeries that ultimately led to the amputation of his leg.
Sadly, Mr Ibu succumbed to these health complications.
There had been wise spread speculations about his health before his final demise.
Similarly, reports of his worsening health status went viral, giving rise to palpable concern among fans and industry colleagues as well.
He would be membered for his unique talents and rib cracking jokes.
Meanwhile, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN , confirmed the passage of John Okafor saying that the deceased immediate cause of death was cardiac arrest, before he passed on at Evercare Hospital in Lagos where he was receiving treatment.
Actors Guild of Nigeria president Emeka Rollas, who confirmed his death, stated that he suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday, March 2. He noted that Mr Ibu’s manager of over 24 years, Don Single Nwuzor, broke the news to him.
Many bewildered fans of Mr. Ibu were taken by surprise, especially when they had thought his health issues had been addressed.
The 62-year-old was discharged from the hospital a few months ago after one of his legs was reportedly amputated.
