His teeming supporters across political divides have expressed the optimism that his timely choice will help to bring back the glory of Okitipupa Local Government by revamping moribund industries like Oluwa Glass, Okitipupa Oil Palm and others capable of returning the local government to where it used to be in the economy of Nigeria.

Following the official presentation of the flags of the All Progressive Congress, APC, to the chairmanship candidates of the party across the 18 Local Government Areas in the forthcoming council election in the state by the Executive Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, stakeholders across Okitipupa Local Government have drummed support for Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin as the council’s next executive chairman.
In strict adherence to the directive of the governor for a holistic campaign to becoming victorious in the election, the chairmanship flag bearer of Okitipupa Local Government, Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin has visited every nook and cranny of the local government and garnered overwhelming support of the stakeholders across political parties.
As a trained leader with sound moral upbringing and absolute respect for culture, Ogunsakin commenced his electioneering campaign by visiting the traditional rulers for formal presentation of his candidacy, his lofty agenda to move the local council forward and to ask for their royal blessings.
Starting from the palace of Oba Williams Akinmusayo Akinlade, the Lapoki of Ode Aye and rounding it off at the palace of Oba Gbadebo Bajowa, the Rebuja of Osooro, the custodians of the people’s tradition accorded him warm reception and expressed their joy over his candidacy.
Offering libations to their ancestors for the gift of Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin at a time when everything in the local government seems to have fallen apart, they expressed optimism that due to his antecedents, his arrival will definitely make the centre of things that have previously fallen off to hold again.
The APC candidate had equally within the shortest time given, visited spiritual fathers to seek divine blessings as well as the support of market women, okada riders’ association, drivers’ union and other critical stakeholders.
The stakeholders on their part expressed the view that, being a popular candidate who enjoys wide acceptance across political parties due to his identification with the youths and other well meaning individuals through his open door policy while in his previously political offices, that many interest groups have taken it upon themselves to do ‘house-to-house’ campaign on his behalf in order to ensure he secures enough votes during the election slated for Saturday 18th January, 2025.
In addition to the above, the stakeholders within the APC and other political parties in Okitipupa Constituency 1 and 2 having accepted his nomination as a movement and an idea whose time has come, took it upon themselves to also visit all the 13 wards in the two constituencies to drum support for Ogunsakin.
It should be noted that since the return of democracy in 1999, the position of Okitipupa council chairmanship has always been keenly contested for in every election but the choice of Andrew Ogunsakin by the APC and seen by other political parties to also be worthy of their choice is a testament of his leadership virtues, reinforcing the need for the people to rally support, in order to regain the lost glory of the entire local council.

Andrew Ogunsakin’s voyage into the political leadership of Ondo State started when he was made a Special Assistant to former Governor Olusegun Mimiko. With his stellar performance in that administration, he was again appointed by the administration of the Late Governor, Arakunrin Akeredolu as a Senior Special Assistant and much later by Akeredolu’s successor and the incumbent, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
His supporters further restated the fact that Andrew Ogunsakin is no doubt the right candidate for piloting the affairs of the Okitipupa Local Government.
They argued that, as a listener who believes in collaborative efforts going by his numerous community engagements prior to this time, Ogunsakin deserves every support, not only to secure victory on Saturday but also to move the local council forward.
The critical stakeholders in their unanimous stand emphasized that any vote for APC and vote for Andrew Ogunsakin is a vote for a positive change.
