Former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, has pledged an additional N5 million to Kawo Almajiri School during a follow-up visit, just four months after donating N10 million to support educational initiatives at the institution.

Mr. Obi’s initial donation had significantly transformed the school, with the funds being used to install two boreholes, construct modern toilet facilities, and renovate classroom spaces, greatly enhancing the students’ learning environment.

During his visit, Mr. Obi expressed satisfaction with the progress, commending the school for the effective use of the donation. He further emphasised his commitment to education, stating, “No child should be denied proper education.” His latest pledge aims to improve the school’s infrastructure even further.

The visit came shortly after Mr. Obi’s condolence trip to former Governor Senator Ahmed Makarfi, who recently lost his first son, Faisal, in a tragic car accident on the Kaduna-Zaria Road. Despite his tight schedule, Mr. Obi made time to visit Kawo Almajiri School, underscoring his dedication to improving education for all Nigerian children, regardless of background or region.

The school management and community expressed their gratitude for Mr. Obi’s continued support, acknowledging the positive impact of his contributions on the future of the students.

With the former governor’s ongoing involvement, hopes are high that Kawo Almajiri School will continue to serve as a model for improving education in underserved communities.
