The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC, has penalized 4U Supermarket formally known as Amigo Supermarket in Abuja by sealing the premises over unfair practices by Ola ts management.
Reports say that the supermarket was sealed off on Thursday during an enforcement exercise embarked on by officials of FCCPC in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT. The exercise was part of efforts to initiate a campaign aimed at proper display of prices and adherence to quantity regulations.
The Commission swung into action following concerns by consumers about the high costs of goods which went contrary to the recent strengthening of the nation’s currency naira against major currencies, especially the United States Dollar.
FCCPC observed that price differences remain a significant issue.
We also gathered that some expired goods including substandard bags of rice were confiscated by enforcement team.
4U Supermarket is located at Wuse 2, FCT Abuja.
