Recent doubts being raised about Hon. Martins Olutade Abiloye’s emergence as the consensus flagbearer of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, for Akoko South East/South West Federal Constituency are baseless and do not reflect the reality of what transpired during the party’s recently conducted primary election.

The truth is that Hon. Abiloye emerged through a transparent, consensus process agreed to by all aspirants. Every contender in the race willingly stepped down and endorsed him as the party’s standard flagbearer. This was not imposed. It was the collective decision of the ADC in the federal constituency, reached in the interest of unity and victory at the general election.

The claim that his emergence is in doubt ignores the fact that the ADC leadership at both the local and state levels duly recognized and affirmed the consensus arrangement. Party records reflect Hon. Abiloye as the authentic candidate. Any insinuation to the contrary is misleading and intended to create unnecessary confusion.

Hon. Abiloye’s track record of service, humility, and humanitarian engagement earned him the trust of party members. His unanimous endorsement is a direct result of that credibility, not a product of backdoor dealings as some detractors want to suggest.

We urge the public to disregard these unfounded doubts. The ADC in Akoko South East/South West is united behind Hon. Martins Olutade Abiloye, and we remain focused on mobilizing for victory at the polls.
