A yet to be named operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has been confirmed dead with the possibilities of suicide cat his residence in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory .
Available information identified the deceased, a member of Course 5, who was described as diligent, efficient, and unassuming officer.
The anti-graft body confirmed the officer’s demise through its spokesperson, Mr. Dele Oyewale who said that investigation into the cause of the death of the officer is currently underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
He described the officer as diligent and unassuming, while revealing that the Commission is exploring possible factors, including mental health and family issues, that may have contributed to the operative’s depression and tragic end..
There are indications that the EFCC will announce the identity of the operative pending the conclusion of its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the suicide.
