To facilitate better understanding on the part of the target beneficiaries, organizers stated that the training sessions were mainly interactive and practical, featuring visual learning tools, role-play scenarios, resilience exercises, and goal-setting activities.

One of the highlights of the programme was the introduction of tools such as the Emotional Intelligence Decision Tree and the Resilience Triangle, which helped participants understand how to manage emotions, cope with challenges, and make healthy choices.

Organisers pointed out that the focus of the training was centered around providing teenagers, who were the key Beneficiaries with practical strategies they could apply in everyday situations.

Safehaven Counselling & Educere Consult Limited seized the moment to appreciate partners’ contributions in the delivery of  the pilot edition of the Life Skills, Emotional Intelligence & Resilience Training, especially the leadership of Rhema Chapel Teens Church, Abuja, for providing the platform and support to reach adolescents within their community.

And, to actualize the set goals, she added that the counselling group is open to partnerships with schools, faith-based organisations, parents’ groups, mental health professionals, and youth-focused institutions, who share a commitment to adolescent development.

“We also welcome support from educational bodies, non-profit organisations, and public and private sector stakeholders, particularly in expanding the programme to reach more young people across different communities.”

Speaking  about challenges before the group, the Programme Director of the Counseling group noted that, “One of the major challenges is scaling the programme sustainably, particularly in terms of reaching more schools and communities, as well as providing training materials and logistical support.
