The Transmission Company of Nigeria ,TCN, has noted with concern and refuted a statement currently in circulation by Kaduna Electric, which on Wednesday alleged transmission constraints affecting power supply to Jos and its environs.

In a statement on Thursday,  the TCN management categorically described the claim as  false and a deliberate misrepresentation of facts.

“For the avoidance of doubt, all 330kV transmission lines connected to Jos are in service and transmitting bulk power,” the statement said.

Putting the record straight, the Company said it recorded a lone incident on 23rd August 2026 at 03:30hrs, when the Jos – Lafia 330kV Line 2 circuit breaker was opened for voltage control, adding that it was a routine operational action to maintain grid stability..

The management stressed that “the line was successfully restored and back in service at 11:59hrs on 24th August 2026,” while stating that, “There has been no outage or disruption of bulk electricity transmission on any 330kV line supplying Jos attributable to TCN since that restoration.”

TCN restated its commitment to transparency and to efficient transmission of bulk electricity to Distribution Companies nationwide, calling on Kaduna Electric and other stakeholders to verify facts with TCN before issuing statements that misinform the public and create unnecessary anxiety.

TCN also appealed to electricity customers in Jos and environs to disregard the misleading information, while assuring that it will continue to work with all Distribution Companies to ensure stable and reliable power delivery.
