The Minister-in-Charge, M.I.C, Rhema Chapel International Churches, Abuja, Pastor Gbenga Gbadeyan has called on the congregation to lay aside the burden of the current economic situation and stay focused on God in praise and worship, stressing that it is the fastest ladder to the top.

The M.I.C gave the charge during the October end of the month Thanksgiving Service on Sunday.

He began by reminding worshippers how David in the Bible made a decision to praise God at all times and not waiting to be encouraged to praise in the face of his personal troubles. He said that David understood better the power of praise and worship when he decided to make praise a habit.

“David’s testimonies encouraged us.
Regardless of what is going on in Nigeria, put on your garment of praise.

“You will not just survive this present economic hardship, you will thrive in it,” Pst. Gbenga said.

Continuing on the need to give thanks, worship and praise, the man of God stated that, “God knows a time like this will come,” emphasizing that regardless of what the economy looks like, Christians should always look up to the Lord as Shepherd for their needs.

But he lamented a situation where many are looking for the way out in the present situation and focusing on means that could not bring positive results to the Glory of God. He reiterated the fact that in all situation God expects his children to put on the garment of praise.

Pastor Gbadeyan revealed that why some people may be wondering about the present challenge regarding the state of the nation, the Bible already stated in 2 Timothy 3:1 that “in the last days perilous time shall come.”

And, notwithstanding the present challenge, he noted that there are things Christians needed to do based on God’s provision to live victoriously. He made making reference to Praise as one of the avenues capable of taking individuals to another level and bringing about desired results.

“When you praise him, you are enforcing what is written. Everyday should be a day of worship,” he said, adding that when a believer hits the crossroads, never knowing what to do, what is needful is just to praise and worship God.

“2 Corinthians 5:17 says, ” If any man be in Christ he is a new creature. The Bible says in 1 Peter 2:9 that, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people….” So, you are a peculiar people. Isaiah 61:3, “To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.” Based on this Scripture, If you have ashes, God will give you the garment of praise. You will have the mantle of joyous praise, as another translation puts it.

“Always give thanks, not only when things are rosy rosy, don’t allow situation and circumstances to rob you of giving praise to God.

“God is always there, praise is your surest access to God, it’s a weapon in your hands, it’s at your disposal – use it.

“Praise is your fastest ladder to your highest place in life. Ps 147:1 says “Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.” This means that God loves praise and he loves being praised, ” he declared as he encouraged the congregation.

He added that praising God should not be limited to the church environment otherwise something may be wrong.

On the benefits of offering praises to God, Pastor Gbadeyan assured believers that it is a guaranteed immunity against attacks of the devil.God. He said: “You become unbeatable and untouchable when you praise. You are well dressed, when you praise Him, if you don’t, you are naked.

“With your garment of praise, angels come to your aid. Praise is focusing on God.”

In concluding his message, the M.I.C highlighted Jesus at the tomb of Lazarus and Paul and Silas experience in the prison, stating that they didn’t complain as the dead man Lazarus came back to life and the prison doors opened in the two instances.

Highpoints of the celebration service include special thanksgiving by individuals and testimonies of diverse experiences of God’s outstanding intervention and goodness in the lives of the church members.
