Yusuf, the son of the late former President Muhammadu Bihari has indicated interest in politics, even as he declares his intention to contest a house of representatives seat in the 2027 elections.

What started as a social media speculation soon became a credible information, following a letter purportedly signed by him, informing stakeholders of his decision to contest the federal legislative seat.

Yusuf Bihari plans to represent Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua constituency on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Bashir Ahmad, former special assistant on digital communications to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, confirms Yusuf ‘s intention in a letter

The letter reads: “I am extremely delighted to inform you of my intention to contest for this position, as I aim to contribute to good leadership and bring development to our people,”

Ahmad said the former President’s  decision was as a result of an extensive consultations with stakeholders.

He said: “Following wide consultations, Yusuf Buhari, the son of our late boss, President Muhammadu Buhari, has informed stakeholders of his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for the Sandamu/Daura/Mai’Adua constituency under the All Progressives Congress,” he wrote on his x post.

Yusuf is not alone in the arena of making political moves, Seyi Tinubu, the son of the incumbent President, Bolarin Ahmed Tinubu never hid his political interest, as he is constantly seen in the forefront of major political movements, most especially the City Boy Movement. This movement has evolved from a 2023 campaign group into a permanent political structure aiming to secure support for President Tinubu’s administration and his 2027 re-election bid.
Interestingly too, because of his prominent role and energy, there are speculation that the son of the President may be eyeing the gubernatorial seat in Lagos state in the future.
