Erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party, nPDP, and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has called on Nigerians curious to know about the political interest and direction of former Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, ahead of 2027 Presidential election, particularly his ambition to lead the country out of the woods, to hold on yet, stating that the former governor will address the issue in due time.
In a statement made available to the media, Chief Eze said that Nigerians have continued to reach out to the former minister of transportation on daily basis asking “whether Amaechi is ready to run for President in 2027” or “whether Amaechi has interest for 2027” or “ what is the political direction of Amaechi for 2027,..”
Reacting, Eze who is a close ally of the former governor and minister said God will inform the decision of the former Governor and Minister, stressing that politics, democracy and leadership in Nigeria today are falling like pack of cards under the current dispensation.
According to him, the three concepts can be likened “to a mountain of illusion, palpitating in the web of debacle.”
Expressing his concerns, Chief Eze stated that, “Nigerians are reaching out to know the interest of Amaechi because the current administration is not concerned about the problems of the country. A government whose focus is to manipulate the process to retain power in 2027, has failed.”
He lamented what he described as “The wobbling economy, hunger and starvation, insecurity and violent killings and other heinous crimes perpetrated on daily basis should give any responsible government a sense of concern. But despite the mounting challenges, the presidency is plotting to retain power by all means. That is not how leadership works. It is not democracy.”
He said that, based on the current state of affairs, Nigeria needed direction, which informed why people are calling on Amaechi to take action.
Chief Eze however urged those who are curious to know the mind of Amaechi ahead of 2027 to be a bit more patient, assuring that as soon as the former Minister briefs him one way or the other he will make it public.
He said of a fact, Amaechi remains a pride to Nigeria and his public service records makes him an ideal Presidential material and Nigerians quite understands that.
‘The likes of Amaechi are needed on the scene in order to assuage the suffering and rescue Nigeria from her present precarious state. Amaechi would sacrifice anything to make Nigeria work. Selflessness is his watchword.
Eze hinted further that 2027 will be full of surprises, claiming that Tinubu may not be in position to even stand the election he plans to manipulate if the USA lives to her billing and releases the drug file on Mr. President. “Ordinarily, the failure of his government which stares us all on our faces inhibits the president to think of re-election,” he said.
Eze urge Nigerians of like mind to put Amaechi in their prayers as the former governor never struggled for any political or public office but all the positions he held in the past had come his way by divine orchestration.
